Committee Chairmen and Advisers

COMMITTEES Term: August 1, 2008 - July 31, 2009
Kittatinny Lodge functions through the use of the committee system. Each committee is responsible for a certain area of lodge operations. Each committee is chaired by a responsible young man under the age of 21, and is advised by an experienced adult. Here is a list of our committees and their functions. Activities Chairman: Cole Bixler Adviser: Roberta Conrad		The Activities Committee is in charge of planning and running activities at Lodge Events, such as Service weekends. Events usually include fellowship events such as cracker barrels, as well as occasional special events.

Brotherhood Chairman: Drew Braun Adviser: Francis Flexer		The Brotherhood Committee administers the Brotherhood review and verifies that Ordeal members are prepared for the Brotherhood membership in the Lodge.

Camp Promotions and Elections Chairman: Alex Conrad Adviser: Jim Conrad		The Camp Promotions and Elections Committee (CP&E) ensures that all troops have held an Order of the Arrow election and been presented a Camp Promotion. This is done through a system of election teams in each district. The District O. A. Representatives also support the Troop O. A. Representatives.

Ceremonies Chairman: Nick Vogelgesang Co-Adviser: Richie Tylka		The Ceremonies Committee is in charge of ceremonies at Order of the Arrow events. The committee maintains the lodge regalia and trains new ceremony participants.

Circle Chairman: Brad Prater Adviser: Terry Wade		The Circle Committee maintains the Lodge's ceremonial circle. The committee periodically constructs additions to the circle as needed.

Conference - Conclave Chairman: Kevin Kline Adviser: Tony Damato		The Conference/Conclave Committee promotes the section's yearly Conclave and the Order's bi-yearly National Order of the Arrow Conference.

Health and Safety Chairman: Mike Wiencek Adviser: Pryce Parker		The Health and Safety Committee provides medical services at Lodge activities.

Historian Chairman: Jeremy Ebert Adviser: Jerry Miller		The Historian committee records, archives, and preserves the Lodge History.

Kitchen Chairman: Nate Wyandt Adviser: Michael Waldman		The Kitchen committee plans, prepares, and serves meals at lodge events.

Kittatinny Inc. Chairman: Phil Bleiler Adviser: Tim Seidel		Kittatinny Inc. sells Order of the Arrow related merchandise such as patches and clothing at Lodge activities.

Membership Chairman: Brant Portner Co-Adviser: Joe Pietruszynski Co-Adviser: Glenn Piper		The Membership Committee maintains a roster of Lodge members. The committee is also responsible for collection of yearly dues.

Ordeal Chairman: Gordon Stock Adviser: Dan Moser		The Ordeal Committee is responsible for planning and administering the Ordeal to prospective Lodge members. The Committee also secures Elangomats to assist in the Ordeal.

Publications Chairman: Lodge Secretary		The Publications Committee produces and distributes the Lodge's bi-monthly newsletter, the Wolf's Tale.

Service Chairman: Mike Beekman Adviser: Dick Zerbe		The Service Committee plans service activities for Service weekends.

Scoutreach Chairman: TBA Adviser: TBA		The Scoutreach Committee provides Scoutreach Mentoring to selected units. The Order of Arrow Scoutreach Mentoring Program is a joint effort of the national Scoutreach Division of the Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow. Its purpose is to identify and assist urban and rural Scout troops whose camping and advancement programs are below standard.

Troop Team Rep Chairman: TBA Adviser: TBA		The Troop Team Rep Committee coordinates the District O.A. Reps, and provides information and guidance for all Troop O.A. Representatives.

Vigil Chairman: TBA Adviser: Dick Keppler		The Vigil Committee selects and inducts Vigil Honor Members into the Lodge.

Web Site Chairman: John Katz Adviser: Jim Guss		The Web Site Committee is responsible for maintenance of the lodge web site, www.kittatinny5.org.
