Welcome to the Kittatinny 5 Website!

Kittatinny Lodge 5, Order of the Arrow, is a service organization registered with Hawk Mountain Council,Boy Scouts of America, in Reading, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area, serving Berks, Schuylkill, and a small portion of Carbon Counties. Kittatinny Lodge V also provides cheerful service to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation, the council's camp.

The mission of the lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the council through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.

Upcoming Info

First off, we would like to congratulate all of the new Ordeal and Brotherhood members! We had a total of 76 new Ordeal and 40 new Brotherhood members. I hope that you will all be back for the May weekend that is quickly approaching.

Below is some info about the events that are coming up in May.

OA Weekend

May 18-20 is another Ordeal and service weekend. The theme for the weekend is "Wild West," so wear your best cowboy/cowgirl gear. While we encourage the authenticity of your outfit, real guns are frowned upon. Be ready for some awesome fun and hard work! The sign-up for the weekend can be found HERE.

Whether or not you are a Troop/Team Rep, it wouldn't hurt to take a look at the newsletter! This edition gives some great tips for Ordeal candidates for the April weekend.

Register for NOAC 2012

Next Stop NOAC 2012 The 2012 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) will be one of your most memorable Scouting experiences. NOAC 2012 will be held at Michigan State University from July 30 through August 4, 2012 and is projected to be one of the largest in the Order’s history with more than 8,000 Arrowmen in attendance.

NOAC will feature a number of unique events, including national competitions for ceremonies, drum, and dance; evening shows; the OA history museum; and awesome recreation competitions such as soccer, basketball, and ultimate Frisbee.. Highlights such as the Founder’s Day festivities including the Foudner’s Day Parade, the Grand Hodag, and the inter-Region dodge ball battle are some of the exciting events at NOAC.

Arrowmen can participate in service projects, high adventure opportunities, leadership training, American Indian Activities training, and much more. While enjoying the various activities, Scouts will have a great time meeting new brothers and sharing their experiences with people from around the nation.
