The Lodge Executive Committee has approved the winter outing for 2008.  We will be traveling to the National Museum of the American Indian in New York City along with visits to Liberty and Ellis Island on march 22, 2008.

Our trip will depart from the Council Service Center at 8:00am via Perkiomen Tours motor coach, and head directly to New York City.

We will be dropped at the entrance to the George Gustav Heye Center at the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House near Battery Park, home of the New York City branch of the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum of the Native American Indian. The current exhibit features cultural items from the native tribes of the North Pacific Coast.

From the museum, we will regroup for a noon ferry departure to Liberty and Ellis Island. You will be free to explore these sites for as long as you like, discovering the rich history of each and maybe even find your immigrant ancestor.

After your visit to these cultural landmarks, you will be free to explore the city and have dinner on your own before re-boarding the motor coach where we were left off for a direct drive home. We should return to the Council Service Center by around 10pm.

Reservations will be accepted on a first come first served basis until the bus is full.

Additional reservation forms may be downloaded using the link below.

NOTE: Trip is open to Lodge members, their families, and guests. Unaccompanied Scouts must be 15 or older. Scouts under 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and have signed approval of parent or guardian.
